Random bits from my time between Thanksgiving and Christmas

I haven't really had anything going on that major, that's why I haven't blogged in a bit but here's some random pics from my time before the Holidays.

This is Dillon and her friend, Addie, at the petting zoo. Addie's mom, Natalie, was too busy running from the peacocks to join us in the petting zoo ;) Dillon really loves to play with Addie because Addie is every bit as busy as Dillon is. Addie left for the holidays and everyday Dillon has been asking where she is. Then Dillon proceeds down the list: where Ry Ry, Mimi, Gampa, Auntie, Undle, Dat, and on and on!

This is my friend Carrie and our girls at the "Festival of Trees" in our small town. It was cute and fun to go to. They had trees decorated by different groups in the community, a bake sale (yum), and my personal favorite, Grandma's attic (or something like that) where this old lady brought her stuff and set it out to sell. The proceeds benefited our library, so it was all for a good cause!

All bundled up! For my friends still living in Pittsburgh, that's called the sunshine...you'll see it again in June!

My family has a tradition of going to the Nutcracker ballet every year around Christmas time and we've done it for years. I haven't had the opportunity of going since Doug and I moved away, so this year I was determined to go. There was only one weekend that the Nutcracker was showing here and luckily Doug was not on call so I went ahead and bought tickets (not just tickets, but orchestra seats!) Anyways, the long and the short of it is that Doug ended up having doing surgery that night, so I got to take my friend Carrie with me! The sitter got off work late, so she showed up late, so we were running late. I didn't know where the theatre was, but in my preparation, I mapquested it. Well, I mapquested the wrong location because we parked and ran in with 2 minutes to spare, only to be told that we were at the wrong theatre! I almost gave up then, but we drove like the wind and ended up only being about 5 minutes late. Luckily they still let us in...I think it was all the huffing and puffing we were doing, they felt so sorry for us! We had so much fun and it was great to see it again...the music alone is worth the price! Anyway, here's me all dressed up to the nines to see the Nutcracker Ballet!

I also had to include a picture of my little taste tester! I baked fudge, ginger snap cookies, lemon bars, chocolate popcorn and almond joys for various people for Christmas and Dillon was more than happy to help test them out!

Lastly, these videos crack me up! I love the first one...Dillon shakes it like a polaroid picture! The second one is just to demonstrate my daughter's love to take her shirt off and stick her hands down her pants and not necessarily in that order! She cracks me up everyday and each day with her is something new! Enjoy! Oh by the way, every time Dillon sees the camera, she wants to sit in my lap and look at pictures so it gets to be pretty hard to take pictures and movies. I had to figure out how to outsmart her and finally I did. I turned off the display on my screen so it looked like my camera is off and then I could take movies and pictures. The problem with that is that the camera work isn't so great...so sorry in advance for that!

"Are you dancing or throwing a fit?" That's a new one. I love it.

Excuse me, I have absolutely NO idea what you are talking about. I happen to love peacocks as well as every other type of bird. Hmmmm....

Oops, logged in under the wrong email. That comment was from me. And I again reiterate I have NO idea what you're talking about.

I do miss the sun! and winter just started. You look fabulous in your pics for the nutcracker, and I love the videos of Dillon dancing. Her hair is so long. We really miss you guys and we hope you have a fun Christmas.

Hey Christen! This is Danielle DeShazer(Smith now). I just found your blog! I have to tell you that your little girl is so darling! I also have to thank you for always being so nice to me and making me feel included and liked growing up. You will never know how much that helped me and how much I appreciated it. I will forever admire you and Cathy for that.
