Well, we made it! We're finally in Omaha! We still haven't hooked up the internet at our house, so that's why the blogs will be few and far between in the meantime.
The move went really smoothly; no accidents, tickets (though Doug did get pulled over!) or major problems. Dillon did really well in her new car seat (she's forward facing now) and is enjoying running around in the empty house with no furniture to impede her. She's getting around really well, which means that she's also getting into everything really well too! I could kiss whoever invented child-locks for cabinets...a serious lifesaver! Bear did really well too, though he was a little miffed about having to sleep in the back of the car for a couple of nights. He has his very own kennel area under our deck that Doug built for him. It was the first thing we did to our house; we realized that it had to be the first on the day that we closed. We put Bear in the backyard to enjoy it's size and grass and the first thing he does is chew down and kill one of our trees in the yard...uhh! Then he proceeds to dig a mud-hole under the patio stairs. At any rate, he's now contained and our yard is safe...for the moment. What can I say, we have a couple of mischievous animals living in our house!
Doug took his test on Monday...hooray! We're SO glad to have that one over with! For those who don't know, Doug took the USMLE part 1; it's the medical boards test that most medical students take in their second year. We won't find out how he did for 4-6 weeks (I think they just want to torture us) but we're hoping and praying he passed so he doesn't have to study for it again. Doug starts his residency at the end of June and is looking forward to getting it started and over with!
As for me, I'm looking forward to seeing most of my siblings and my parents over the fourth of July. One of my sisters is coming all the way from Singapore, so that will be SO fun to see them. Well, that's about it for now; I'll try to post again soon. Hope all is well for you guys!

Finally! I've been waiting oh so patiently! Glad to know everything went well and that you are starting to get settled. Unpacking is the worst, right? Can't wait till you get internet so we can see pics and stuff.
Chris, I am so happy you guys are so much closer now! Lot's of fun times ahead! Love you!
I'm glad you made it there safe and sound and speeding ticket-less. I hope you like it there - although your chances of meeting people that are as cool as those in the Burgh are slim to none.
Aww...you know no one compares to yins in the Burgh! Can't wait to see pics of the NC trip!
I'm glad to hear you guys made it. I've been checking your blog for updates. That will be fun to spend some time with the fam. I hear miss Dillon had the Chicken Pox. I bet that was fun. And yipee for child locks. LOL. What they haven't invented is a mute button for their little mouths when they turn three and NEVER EVER stop talking.
Congrats on finishing step 1 and good luck with getting settled in omaha.
Congrats on the move to Omaha! We are just barely settling in in LA. Dillon is so freakin cute! Tell Doug good luck on the program!
