So, I know I just blogged about summer but I guess here in the big O Fall starts immediately with September. Seriously, August was hot and humid and then the next day, on Sept. 1st it turned chilly. It's great! For anyone that knows me, they know that I LOVE the fall! Halloween, for me, rivals Christmas. I don't know what it is about the Fall and Halloween, some may say it's all the candy but I say it's more the beginning of the holiday season in general. I love the crisp, cool weather, the scary movies, the costumes, and the smells. I'm also a sucker for a truly scary haunted house (believe me, the truly scary ones are few and far between...just ask our friends Jeff and Maja).
So, speaking of scary movies, I took Dillon to a cornfield to try to get some cute fall pics and all I could think about was all the scary movies that involve cornfields (ala children of the corn, signs, etc). Seriously, have you ever been up close to a cornfield? It's straight up creepy! The wind blows all the stalks and it sounds like there's a ton of people or animals in the field. Spooky! I think I'm going to start a tradition while we're living in Omaha of walking through a cornfield at night with Doug during October. Wheew, I'm getting creeped out just thinking of it...it's great! If anyone comes to visit us in October, you'll have to come with us (hah! That will keep the guests away!). So back to the reason you're all here: I started to say that I took Dillon to a cornfield in an attempt to get some cute Fall pics. I may have gotten a smidgen over-excited for the cool weather. As you can see in the pics, it's a beautiful, blue sky day and Dillon was not excited about her vest. Oops! Oh well, it won't be the last time she sacrifices her comfort for fashion! I have to say though, she looks so dang cute in these pics! She's getting so big!
Oh, and there are a few random ones of Dillon swinging at the park and I didn't feel like ordering the pics...sorry!

What cute pictures. she is a little doll. I totally want to come walk through a creepy cornfield with you guys. I will ask Jonathan if we can make it out there in October. (I wish, I would love some alone time, even in a creepy cornfield.)
